Company History
The founding members have been working together on various
technology projects since January 2007 although the company was only
incorporated on 16th January 2008.
Bookmakers Technology Consortium is a non profit making company
limited by guarantee and does not have a share capital. The
company has members rather than shareholders and the members do not
share in the profits, if any, of the company.
Aims &
Objectives
The objective of the company is to assist independent bookmakers in
the procurement and operation of new technology on the basis of best
of breed solution on beneficial commercial terms.
Membership will be open to any independent bookmaker based in
the UK or Ireland.
The Consortium will use the joint buying power of all the members to
negotiate advantageous deals with suppliers. All members will then
be able to take advantage of these deals. The Consortium will
primarily operate as a facilitator not as a service company.
Achievements to date
The Consortium has in place
an agreement with Finsoft for the supply of a Betting Shop EPoS system together
with internet and call centre software. We are presently
working with Finsoft to facilitate bookmakers with small groups of
shops to upgrade to the Finsoft EPoS system.
We have been
instrumental in negotiating for the supply to independent bookmakers
of the new iSIS Genus display system from
SIS. This system provides
independent bookmakers with significantly more central control of
their display systems than the existing iSIS system.
